At a minimum you will incur a one off charge to write a web advertising campaign that will bring targeted traffic to your website. Typically you should budget for £1500 + VAT. In addition you will need to budget for a minimum 3 month advertising spend. Your spend is directly linked to the average number of daily visitor's you want to your site. As result the spend varies enormously by sector so it is difficult to give a figure. Many small business like to start by spending no more than a £1000 per month independent of the volume of visitor's.
In addition you may chose to spend more money. For a fixed fee we can analyse you current site effectiveness to convert targeted traffic into online enquiries. In addition we can monitor the traffic to your site and optimise the web campaign to provide the highest quality level of targeted traffic. Both of these services would be quoted for at the time of a proposal.
Search engine optimisation (abbreviated as SEO) can be done on your web page for a limited number of keywords. If SEO is done properly then if someone searches the web for your "limited" number of keywords your site will appear in the first pages on search engine listings. However as many of the search engines rely on paid advertising or pay per click they are constantly changing the algorithms such that no one web page stays at the top of the unpaid search queue. Therefore you must frequently update and submit your pages to stay on top. Most companies charge a fee each time this is done. The main advantages of TE are 1) we can advertise a site over a vast number of search terms (some of our campaigns include over 5000 search terms) and 2) you pay a one off cost for the keyword campaign development. The bottom line is you should consider using both SEO and TE , SEO would only apply to the "most" important key words for your site.
To prove how effective web marketing is we use the TE solution to drive traffic to our site as a means on generating our own sale leads. If you are reading this answer then we have at least demonstrated our ability to drive targeted traffic to a website.
In both solutions we use the same underlying technology and practices for the web advertising campaigns. As a result the traffic to either our own website or yours will be highly qualified.
In the TE solution you control the final quality of the traffic. The manner in which you capture the lead influences the final quality (i.e. online form, email or telephone). In the case of an online form the more information you ask the user to complete the more qualified the lead is. However you also run the risk of not capturing as many leads if you ask for too much detail online. Depending on your internal ability to follow up on leads we believe you should be tempted to ask for less detail versus more. In this manner you can then have a salesperson close the deal.
Your level of advertising spend will largely dictate the volume of targeted traffic to your site. The power of the internet means that people use it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Typically we will therefore direct as much traffic as possible based on your fixed monthly advertising spend.
The best way for both parties to answer this question is to enter into a short term initial contract.
In the TE solution you would be committing to fixed cost for the initial contract period. At the end of this period you will need to look at the incremental sales and profit you have achieve from the additional traffic to your website. If , as we expect, the TE solutions provides more sales at the same or better costs than other lead generation programs then you will likely opt to continue with the TE program and potentially increase your advertising spend.
The web tends to be country specific and as such traffic will be generated from the whole of the UK. You need to be comfortable that your business can handle traffic for the whole or a large sub region of the UK. Due to the limits of web technology anything less than this cannot be managed economically (unless you are happy to sell on leads that are outside your region to your chosen network).
